ZOOM and PAN command

ZOOM and PAN command in AutoCAD 2012

     Now, I will explain another command in AutoCAD. What is it ? Yaps, Zoom and PAN command.
Do you know the usefulness of the command in AutoCAD ? Let's check the explaination.


  • ZOOM command
          ZOOM command is a command that used for enlarge or minimize objects on the display screen of 
          AutoCAD.

  • PAN command 
          PAN command is a command for move objects on the screen display of AutoCAD.


Practicing making Arc and Circle object

      Resuming the previous object, now you will try to enlarge a full screen object display using a Zoom-Extents. Then, you enlarge one piece of object using Zoom-Window. Doing PAN command for shift the display. The last one is doing Zoom-All for seeing the overall object.

  1. Resuming the previous example.
  2. You run the ZOOM-Extents command for make objects appear one full screen

    3. Look at picture 1.8. That is the previous example object.

      4. Look at picture 1.8.1 You run Zoom Extents with follow the picture hint and this step.

          Command : ZOOM
          Specify corner of window, enter a scale factor (nX or nXP) , or   
          [All/Center/Dynamic/Extents/Previous/Scale/Window/ Object] <real time> : E

       5. Look at picture 1.8.2. You doing a ZOOM-Window command for enlarge circle area. Follow this 
           instruction.

           Command: ZOOM
           Specify corner of window, enter a scale factor (nX or nXP) , or 
           [All/Center/Dynamic/Extents/Previous/Scale/Window/ Object] <real time> : W
           Specify first corner : (click P1)
           Specify opposite corner : (click P2)

      6. Look at picture 1.8.3. You run a PAN command. Then you click in P1 and drag (click the left mouse 
          button, hold, and move) to P2 position. 
      7. And the last one is, you run a ZOOM-ALL command for showing all object.

          Command : ZOOM
          Specify corner of window, enter a scale factor (nX or nXP) , or 
          [All/Center/Dynamic/Extents/Previous/Scale/Window/ Object] <real time> : ALL
